COACHES CERTIFICATION
- all head coaches must be certified through a program, such as NYSCA, Simply the Best, etc… Coaches must have the certification before games begin in March. NYSCA offers online Baseball Coaches certification that will satisfy the coach’s certification requirement. For a small fee you can complete the certification online at https://www.nays.org/nyscaonline/ The online certification is a combination of reading and video followed by 2 tests based on the content. The videos are not required, but if you do choose to watch them, we have found that they run slow. You will find that the tests aren’t real difficult and some of the questions do require that you’ve read the material while other questions may be answered using reasonable judgment.

2010 INDEPENDENT TEAMS – Each year Lanier Baseball accepts up to 2 teams in the league who do not have a home field. We call these teams “Independent”. All Independent team spots for 2010 have been filled. We are not taking any more requests at this time.

DIVISION SPLITS for 2010 – In 2010 the league will be splitting the 11 and up age groups into AAA & AA divisions where possible. The league directors have discussed the issue and for several reasons have decided to make the splits official. Returning teams will be appointed to the division in which they participated in for the 2009 Championship Tournament. There will be a few exceptions that will be reviewed by the league directors, which will include the last place team in the AAA divisions and any new teams who join the league.

Feeder Division – Teams who have players who are all in the same grade and will be attending the same high school. These teams are generally in the 7th & 8th grade, however we do have the Jr Grizzlies and other programs who have
                        teams in other ages.
                        Tournament Division
- AAA teams wishing to play only 10-14 league games should register in the “Tournament” division.
AAA Division - Teams who have competed at the AAA level or played Lanier Baseball and finished .500 or above in 2009 should register AAA.
AA Division - New teams who’ve never played travel or teams who finished under .500 in Lanier Baseball in 2009 should register AA.
